Tasting Notes
Rich and medium-bodied, exhibiting bright acidity. The nose reveals a floral and tropical bouquet, featuring aromas of guava, papaya, lychee, elderflower, lilac, quince, and golden apple. On the palate, enjoy notes of candied lime, elderflower, dried papaya, and apricot.
Vineyard Notes
2023 was remarkably hot after a long cool Spring, accelerating the ripening process. To preserve bright acidity and freshness, the Viognier was harvested about a month earlier than in 2022.
Production Notes
The juice was pressed directly into neutral Burgundy barrels. One barrel underwent natural fermentation, while the other two were inoculated with a special yeast known for enhancing exotic fruit notes. Throughout fermentation, all barrels were stirred once a week, followed by monthly stirring as the wine aged on full lees. On February 6th, the Viognier was racked into tanks to rest before bottling.
